    Biography

Colette Crawley is committed to public service. For more than 30 years she has worked with children and families through child welfare, social services and non-profit agencies and school systems. Her passion for making a difference in the lives of others has guided her professional journey on a path to making service provisions in the states of Missouri, Washington, Virginia and Tennessee, where she currently serves as director for one of Tennessee’s state departments.  A native of St. Louis, Missouri, and graduate of Vashon High School, Colette is equally passionate about her education. Colette completed her undergraduate studies at Clark-Atlanta University. She completed her graduate studies at Tennessee State University earning two master’s degrees, one in Professional Studies and the other in Social Work.  She also holds graduate certificates in non-profit Management and Strategic Leadership.

The combination of Colette’s upbringing in one of St. Louis’s inner-city housing projects, the Blumeyer Village, her matriculation at historically black universities and her many years of child-welfare experience have led to her capacity to positively influence and impact the lives of others.  This includes her greater purpose in working with at-risk young ladies, as a part of her commitment to community service. She has served on the board of several non-profit agencies extending consultation in the areas of strategic planning and professional coaching and mentoring for leaders.

Colette is purpose-driven and people-focused. Her approach to building relationships begins with mutual respect. Colette values the idea of leading, inspiring and teaching others. She recognizes that she is blessed, and she is determined to be a blessing to others. Through her coaching style, she aspires to empower, motivate, and promote self-confidence that encourages others to identify with achieving a level of success that is not limited to, and defined by monetary gain.
